Jason transformed a diminutive, windowless basement bedroom into a deluxe cabin on the Orient Express for a train-obsessed young man.
The biggest challenge, among many others—such as adding moldings on the ceiling and putting in a faux window by way of a light box—was to create the kind of coved ceilings typical of a train car. Proving that necessity is the mother of innovation, Jason achieved that using inexpensive kitchen cutting boards, which worked exceedingly well in terms of flexibility and translucence.
